Reductions in Force

A reduction in force involves the elimination of instructional staff as a result of school board action taken in response to budget cuts, decreased enrollment or other reasons unrelated to employee performance or conduct. A reduction in force is appropriate any time the board’s action results in a decrease in the number of teaching positions in the district.
