Located just north of downtown Denver, historic Commerce City has approximately 46,000 residents. Continuing to maintain its small-town atmosphere, the City is one of the fastest growing communities in the Denver metro area. The District serves more than 7,500 students. A state and nationally recognized leader in innovative education, Adams 14 has 464 teachers, 35 administrators and 347 support staff for a total of 847 full and part-time employees. It is the second largest employer in Commerce City.

Aguilar is a quiet community of 600 in south central Colorado. It is located right off of I-25, 16 miles south of Walsenburg, 20 miles north of Trinidad and 60 miles south of Pueblo. Residents are predominantly of Hispanic and Italian heritage, and their small-town, rural values are reflected in the student population. Aguilar School District Re-6 has a PK-12 enrollment of approximately 70 students. The small student population allows staff to provide all students with intensive and focused interaction. The Junior/Senior high school also offers a comprehensive curriculum and the school is attempting a partnership with Trinidad State Junior College to provide vocational course work in auto-mechanics and welding.
Qualifications:. excellent communication skills with the ability to relate with students, parents, staff and the board; visibility with and availability to staff and community; high energy and dedication to the job; ability to be a team player who motivates and empowers staff; firm, decisive, goal-oriented leadership style; familiarity with school law; strong background in school finance and school budgeting and knowledge of federal programs including Title Funding and Targeted District Improvement grants.
Salary: The district will offer a minimum of salary of 75,000 plus a house and utilities. A district car is available for all school related travel. The district also pays a portion of the health insurance and full PERA benefits. Date of employment: July 1, 2012.

The district is located on the south end of the San Luis Valley, 28 miles south of Alamosa on U.S. Highway 285. The community is rich in south-central Colorado and northern New Mexico traditions, and culture and approximately 86 percent of its residents are Hispanic. The South Conejos School District No. RE-10 is located in Antonito. Its 235 students benefit from the caring and expertise of highly dedicated staff of 25 teachers, 3 administrators and 20 classified staff. The academic disciplines and programs include literacy content, math, science, social studies, foreign language, physical education, welding, business/computer applications, music and art.
Qualifications: demonstrates effective communication skills through listening, speaking and writing; knowledge and successful experience in curriculum development, instruction and assessments in a standards-based education system; understands Colorado school finance and school law; exhibits visionary leadership in developing short-term and long-term goals; has successfully developed budgets and managed school finances; consistency in decision-making and following through with difficult issues; understands, accepts and respects the social/economic diversity of the community and embraces the rural community lifestyle and culture; and preferred Master’s degree or higher in Educational Administration.
Salary: The board of education is offering a salary range of $75,000–$85,000. A district benefits package will be provided. Date of employment: July 1, 2012.

The Ellicott School District covers 230 square miles of central and eastern El Paso County and is located approximately 20 miles east of Colorado Springs, the state’s second largest city. The Colorado Springs area offers a variety of cultural events and festivals, as well as sports, recreation, churches and service clubs for youth and adults. Ellicott offers small class sizes, full-day Kindergarten, preschool, and accessible, dedicated and caring teachers. We serve approximately 1,035 students (pre-school, 90; elementary, 460; middle school, 210; high school, 275). Enrollment is increasing slowly. Current district staffing is approximately 70 certified staff and 60 classified staff.
Qualifications: Proven track record as a strong leader with excellent communications skills; advocate for students, staff and schools in all matters; commitment to high visibility in the schools and other district activities; willingness to enforce all appropriate policies fairly and consistently; ability to establish a positive and trust-based school/district culture; able and willing to hold everyone accountable as well as himself/herself; strong organizational skills; knowledge of Colorado school law, finance and budgeting; possesses a Master’s degree or higher in an education related field--Doctorate preferred; and superintendent and/or administrative experience--Two years superintendent experience preferred.
Salary: The Board of Education is offering a minimum salary of $85,000, which is negotiable depending upon experience. Health insurance will be paid by district along with use of district vehicle for official travel or reimbursement for mileage. Date of employment: July 1, 2012.
