Its schools are located in three different communities, Fairplay, Lake George and Guffey, each with its own distinctive personality. Overall, the Park County Re-2 School District enrolls approximately 670 students in grades P-12. The district’s staff consists of the superintendent, 4 administrators, 52 teachers and 53 classified employees. Students, staff and parents are particularly proud of the district’s low student-teacher ratio. Qualifications: demonstrates successful financial and budgetary management experience; understands Colorado school law; possesses strong interpersonal communication skills; is an inspirational leader who builds relationships, involves internal and external stakeholders, and maintains high visibility in the schools and the community; understands rural communities and their schools; is knowledgeable about and willing to work under a Policy Governance® structure; demonstrates “out of the box” thinking and problem solving skills; is willing to reside within the school district boundaries and holds a current Colorado administrators license. Salary: The board of education is offering a salary starting in the mid-80’s subject to negotiation, based upon qualifications and expectations. Sangre de Cristo Schools Re-22J

The Sangre de Cristo School District is located in south central Colorado on the east side of the San Luis Valley with spectacular views and easy access to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and the surrounding mountain ranges. Presently, the district has two sites seven miles apart, PK-6 in Hooper and 7-12 in Mosca. Ground breaking for a new, state-of-the-art PK-12 school building will be in May 2010 with the opening scheduled for fall 2011. Qualifications: is open and collaborative: has strong communication and listening skills; understands Colorado school law and finance; maintains a professional balance between financial management and instructional leadership; maintains high visibility and is involved in classrooms and community; has previous classroom, administrative and grant-writing experience; has passion for increasing student achievement; will make tough decisions and follow through and commits long-term to the district. Salary: The Board of Education is offering a salary of $ 82,000 plus a health benefits package and a home is provided. Interviews: April 23 & 24, 2010
